...and then there is HEAVEN

"...I saw a new heaven and a new earth. God had recreated it, just as He had made it in the beginning...I, John, saw the Hly City, New Jerusalem, come down out of heaven from God like a beautifully dressed bride, ready to meet her husband. I heard a loud voice coming from the throne, saying. 'God will now make His home on earth. he will personally live with His people and be with them. They will be part of the royal family of heaven and God will truly be their God. He will wipe away all their tears and there will be no more death, neither will there be any more sorrow, crying or pain. The old order of things will be forever gone.' " (John--Revelation 21:1-4)

Whatever picture of Heaven our imagination can dream of, it will be a thousand times better! What do you see in your mind's eye when you think of Heaven?

I don't know what to imagine when I think of Heaven. Growing up I always imagined lots of trees and cool grass, the perfect temperature, lots of friends, calm blue water to swim in without fear of injury, being able to fly, and having multiple wild animals as "pets."

As an adult, I realize I can't imagine heaven. But when I try, it never involves shopping malls, a house full of expensive things, the most fashionable clothes, movie theatres, or CDs.

It's all nature.

Forests, oceans, creeks, canyons, as many different kinds of clouds as there are hairs on all of our heads put together, rivers, flowers...

Funny how that is, eh?

I see miles and miles of green grass and flowers and pure, clean lakes. I can't imagine exactly what type of dwelling we will have there, but I know it will be awesome. We won't be bothered by the trappings of this world: cell phones, television, cars, credit cards, and all those things that take up our time.

Morgan and I were looking at a picture of Jesus in heaven yesterday. I explained that he would someday come back and we would go live in heaven with Him. She said, "Mommy, can we go now??"

I wish we could...
